runDisney invites runners everywhere to participate in the 2018 Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon

If you’re a Star Wars fan who loves to run and you won’t be able to make it to the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon at Walt Disney World on April 22, runDisney has an exciting new option for you.

, giving runners everywhere the opportunity to participate and earn some special new Star Wars hardware.

Runners can sign up now and will have until March 31 to complete their 13.1 mile trek. With the option to do it all at once or to break it up over the allotted time, this is a challenge almost anyone can take part in.

On top of the new Virtual Half Marathon, runDisney is also introducing the Kessel Run Challenge. This challenge combines this 2018 Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon with the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon at Walt Disney World. Runners who complete both races will earn a special Millennium Falcon-inspired medal.

Upon registration, participants will have the option to make a donation to Starlight Children’s Foundation, an organization that brings joy and comfort to hospitalized children and their families through programs at children’s hospitals around the world.

The entry fee for the 2018 Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon is $59 and progress will be tracked using the honor system. Finishers will earn a Star Wars medal, a downloadable Race Bib and a downloadable finisher’s certificate. Prospective runners can sign up here.
