After casting spells at the British Library in London, “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” makes its way to New York City in the fall.

The exhibit, created to mark the 20th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” runs at the New York Historical Society from October 5, 2018 – January 27, 2019. Guests can learn more about the early days of Harry Potter with a look at J.K. Rowling’s drafts and sketches, and illustrations by Jim Kay. The exhibit also explores real-life folklore and the history of magic that inspired the world of Harry Potter.

There’s also a companion book to go along with the exhibit, titled “Harry Potter: A Journey Through the History of Magic.” It’s available on Amazon starting at $8.99 for the Kindle version or $13.64 for the paperback.

Tickets to “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” go on sale to New York Historical Society members on February 14. General public tickets go on sale in April.
