Must Have Munchies -7 Sensational Seasonal Snacks from Central Florida Theme Parks

in Disney, Food, Theme Parks

Santa Claus, Christmas trees, magical lights and snowmen are all a wonderful part of the winter season.  However, for me at least, it’s all about the food.  Like the anise pizzelles Grandma used to make (a personal favorite), these memorable morsels add to the magic and merry-making for the Holidays.

The kitchen elves at Central Florida’s theme parks must be well aware of the allure that these treats bring.  Each holiday season there seems to be more and more magical munchies to choose from. Listed below are seven sensational snacks to tempt your taste buds.

1. Earl of Sandwich Holiday Sandwich
Though technically not a “holiday” release, the “holiday turkey” (offered year-round) at Earl of Sandwich is like having a Thanksgiving in the palm of your hand.  Turkey, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce & mayonnaise come together on a toasted bun for an amazing must-have feast.  Earl of Sandwich is located in Disney Springs.

2. Chocolate covered gingerbread shingles
Walk into the Grand Floridian Hotel at Walt Disney World and the aroma of gingerbread taunts you while taking in the giant cookie creation that graces the hotel’s lobby.  Fortunately chocolate covered “shingles” of the spongy spice cookie are available for purchase.

3. Roast Turkey Mini-meal
Epcot’s Holiday celebration has a sumptuous surprise waiting for guests who visit the American Holiday Table. There, at the food kiosk is a miniature version of the holiday feast.  Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce in single square serving with a small side of green beans makes the perfect seasonal snack.

4. Italian Christmas Cookies
Vivoli Il Gelato (sister store to the oldest ice cream parlor in Florence) is a hidden gem nestled among the shops and restaurants in Disney Springs.  In addition to amazing gelato creations (keep an eye out for their “Santa’s Little Helper” sundae), Italian Christmas cookies bring a warm smile to my Sicilian heart.

5. Eggnog Flavored Fudge
Islands of Adventure features this fun flavor at its Island Market and Export Candy Shoppe (right next to the Christmas shop!)

6. Gingersnap Cookie
Topped with Cream Cheese Icing and Cranberry Jam, this holiday treat is a new addition that’s found at the Cookie Nook Holiday Kitchen. Wash that down with a crème de menthe (non-alcoholic) hot chocolate (Part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.)

7. Chocolate Peppermint Holiday Cupcake
Sprinkles at Disney Springs (and other locations), will offer a few festive flavors for the holidays.  These include Red Velvet, Vanilla, Gingerbread, and my favorite: Chocolate Peppermint (complete with candy cane pieces on top!) Each is specially decorated for this happy Yuletide season.

Savor these 7 sensational snacks and more while enjoying all of the Holiday happiness offered by Central Florida’s theme parks. Of course, stay tuned to ITM for all the delicious details on these Holiday happenings!
