It was announced earlier today that the release date of “Star Wars: Episode IX” would be pushed backĀ as a result of losing Colin Trevorrow and adding J.J. Abrams as the film’s director. That change of plans had a ripple effect that is seeing all kinds of changes to Disney‘s upcoming schedule.
Disney’s live-action remake of their animated classic “Aladdin” will now take Star Wars’ originally planned May 24 release date.
Some other changes to the upcoming schedule include the young adult book adaptation “Artemis Fowl” now being set for August 19, 2019; a female Santa Claus film starring Anna Kendrick title “Nicole” set for November 8, 2019 and “Magic Camp” being taken off the calendar entirely.
Disney has also set their yet untitled Christopher Robin film for August 3, 2018, a date that was previously occupied by an “untitled live-action fairy tale film.”
