Several photos from the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” were released yesterday revealing the new Elite Praetorian Guards  and looks at Luke and Rey from Episode VIII.

Another one of those images from the series of photos from Entertainment Weekly, revealed that Luke was not actually alone in his exile on that island, and instead was joined by characters known as ‘The Caretakers.’

“They’re kind of these sort of fish-bird type aliens who live on the island,” said The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. “They’ve been there for thousands of years, and they essentially keep up the structures on the island.”

This all-female race of aliens was present on the island long before Luke arrived, and according to Johnson, they weren’t exactly thrilled with his presence there.

We will be formally introduced to ‘The Caretakers’ when “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” hits theaters on December 15.
