Marvel has a lot in store for the future when it comes to television. “Inhumans” is coming to ABC this fall, “Defenders” comes to Netflix next month and “Cloak and Dagger” and “Runaways” are set to premiere on Freeform and Hulu respectively, sometime next year.

Now those shows will have to slide over to make room for some more superheroes because Freeform’s “New Warriors” just got its cast.

The series was picked up by the Disney-owned network three months ago and fans have speculated as to who would play the ragtag group of heroes ever since. Squirrel Girl in particular, was at the center of the speculation.

Well, speculate no further because it was announced today that Milana Vayntrub will be playing whimsical super heroine.

Derek Theler, star of Freeform’s comedy series “Baby Daddy,” will take the male lead as he portrays Mister Immortal.

The rest of the cast that will play this humorous group of heroes is as follows:

  • Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher
  • Calum Worthy as Speedball
  • Matthew Moy as Microbe
  • Kate Comer as Debrii

Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb was thrilled to share this cast with the fans.

“We’re so lucky to have assembled such a diverse and incredibly talented cast,” Loeb said. “We can’t wait for the fans to see what’s in store when we unleash these iconic characters into the world.”

“New Warriors” does not have a premiere date set at this time but it is currently expected sometime in 2018.
