Yesterday evening in Hollywood, California, the cast and creative team behind Disney’s new movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”— the fifth entry in the long-running “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series inspired by the world-famous Disneyland ride– appeared together at the star-studded American premiere in Hollywood.

Just one week after actors Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, and Javier Bardem joined directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg at Shanghai Disneyland for the World Premiere, the same group– and many more– gathered at the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard (formerly known as the Kodak Theatre and home of the Academy Awards since 2002) to celebrate the movie’s stateside debut.

ITM was invited to attend the premiere in the fan pen areas, and we had a terrific night! I took the following photos during my experience.

The entrance to the red (blue) carpet area, decked out to look like one of the more imposing locations from the film.
I met up with my friend Maxwell Glick (Mr. Cheezypop on YouTube) and was very impressed with his costume!
Check-in was located at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, just across the street from the Dolby.
My view of the blue carpet ceremony.
We were entertained by these very talented jugglers / stilt-walkers as we waited for the celebrities to arrive.
Amazing balloon pirate ship!
Actor Jon Voight (“Midnight Cowboy”) came by to chat with fans.
Martin Klebber (Marty in four of the “Pirates” films) walks the carpet.
Geoffrey Rush (Captain Barbossa) chats with a reporter.
Javier Bardem (Salazar) came by to sign autographs.
Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow) was rushed through by his handlers, but managed to get in a couple fan interactions before being ushered into the theater.

Orlando Bloom (Will Turner) interviewed in front of the El Capitan.

Getting to actually sit in the theater for an honest-to-goodness Hollywood movie premiere was an unforgettable experience. My review of the movie itself will be on its way this Monday, and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be released into theaters on Friday, May 26th.
