New ‘Pandora – The World of Avatar’ interactive app lets Walt Disney World guests help endangered species

in Disney, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World

Guests visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer are able to help the environment while exploring the immersive new land.

Connect to Protect, a new mobile adventure, invites park visitors to participate in missions with digital scientists as they wander through the Valley of Mo’ara.

Upon entering Pandora, guests using the My Disney Experience app are invited to instant message chat with Fitsimti “Fits” Buckley, one of the moon’s ecological specialists. Fits becomes a Pandora tour guide, giving detail about the exotic environment and sharing important messages about conservation that apply to Pandora as well as Earth.

After completing a mission, guests unlock a $10 contribution from Disney Parks through the Disney Conservation Fund, or they earn a $5 contribution for discussing conservation. Guests then choose which of the following endangered species they’d like their contribution to help: elephants, apes, butterflies, cranes, coral reefs, sea turtles, monkeys, rhinos, tigers, or sharks and rays.

Start chatting with Fits through Connect to Protect when you visit the park this summer to learn more about Pandora and help some creatures in need.
