Artegon Marketplace mall in Orlando to close Jan. 26, popular Gods & Monsters comic shop seeking new location

Artegon Marketplace shopping center located in Orlando, Florida is set to close this January. Retailers of the International Drive-located shopping center were unfortunately told this morning that the so-called ‘anti-mall’ will be shutting its doors on January 26.

The shopping center opened back in November 2014, after its predecessor Festival Bay suffered a similar fate. The two-year trial of a different type of mall, featuring smaller shops and artisans, will now cease the operations of all their retailers. Outlying businesses such as Bass Pro Shop and Cinemark will remain though.

Well-known Artegon Marketplace retailers such as the Gods & Monsters comic book shop are now left without a home. Luckily Gods & Monsters owner Anna has confirmed that the comic book shop will be looking for another location in the same area.

So what will be replacing Artegon Marketplace? Rumor is that another theme park operator is interested in the spot and the land surrounding the location on International Drive, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
