Super Nintendo World Revealed for Universal Studios Japan, New Artwork Shows Mario’s Mushroom Kingdom Come to Life

Just two weeks after Universal Studios announced the world of Nintendo would be coming to theme parks worldwide, even more, details have emerged regarding this groundbreaking partnership.

Super Nintendo World is the name of the themed area that will first open at Universal Studios Japan, announced to debut by summer 2020 in time for the Tokyo Olympics. It will later be followed by more Nintendo attractions to open at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.

According to a Universal press release, Super Nintendo World will feature “state-of-the-art rides, interactive areas, shops and restaurants, all featuring Nintendo’s most popular characters and games.”

The massive area will cost more than 430 million dollars to build in Japan.

Concept art for Japan features the Mushroom Kingdom of the Super Mario Bros series. In the artwork are Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, green pipes, mountains, Thwomps, question blocks, and even Bowser’s Castle.

What Can Fans Expect at Universal Hollywood’s Super Nintendo World?

The area is being developed mainly using the Park’s current parking area and part of an area designated for future expansion.
