James Cameron, Disney Imagineers to reveal new details on Avatar theme park at D23 event

Director James Cameron is reportedly set to announce brand new details about Pandora: The World of Avatar that is currently being built in Walt Disney World.

Set to open in 2017 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the new 12-acre theme park area will be discussed at length with Cameron, Avatar producer Jon Landau and Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde at a panel for the upcoming ‘D23 Destination D: Amazing Adventures’ event in November, according to io9.

Taking place November 19 and 20 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World Resort, D23 Destination D: Amazing Adventures is open only to D23 Fan Club members but you can read more about it here. The event takes place on the years the D23 Expo doesn’t and, addition to the Cameron panel, there will be events based on the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.
