‘Jurassic World 2’ to begin filming in early 2017 in Hawaii

According to Comicbook.com, the sequel to the blockbuster hit ‘Jurassic World’, appropriately-titled ‘Jurassic World 2’, will begin filming next year in Hawaii. Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles and they will be arriving in Hawaii in February 2017 to shoot the sequel under the production name of “Ancient Futures”. Hawaii has been a popular destination when shooting the previous Jurassic movies, mainly being a stand-in for the fictional Isla Nublar island featured in the films.

Director Colin Trevorrow has been quoted in Wired Magazine as saying the new movie will try to break the mold somewhat by not featuring “a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island”. Instead (spoiler alert) the sequel will reportedly focus on the idea of multiple companies cloning dinosaurs.

Jurassic World 2 is slated to come out on June 22, 2018.
