In December of 2015 a new, updated Special Effects Show debuted in the Stage 56 venue at Universal Studios Hollywood, replacing the Special Effects Stage, which ran in the Upper Lot area from April 2010 through August 2015.

Some elements from the previous show have been recycled for the new version, most notably the finale, but the current show also implements some very impressive new stunt and fire effects, and even a cameo appearance by Universal’s wise-cracking teddy bear, “Ted.”

The show runs for about half an hour and combines various elements of movie-making and clips from throughout Universal’s history into a great way to escape the Southern California heat during your visit to the park.
