PHOTOS: Ultimate guide to making your Christmas tree a Universal adventure this season

in Merchandise, Theme Parks, Universal Orlando

While the holidays have their notoriety for gingerbread and egg nog, Santa’s sleigh and snowflakes… It’s obvious to include shopping in the mix of all things jolly for the holidays. With that reason, the Universal Orlando resort has made some creative efforts to keep your Christmas shopping covered; and wanting more.

The resort boasts two dedicated Christmas shops open year round, one in each of it’s two theme parks. Inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure you’ll find the Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe. This is found on the right side as you enter the park, just past the Island Market and Export Candy Shoppe. The Port of Entry store holds collections of holiday themed Despicable Me/Minions merchandise, along with signature Universal Studios ornaments, The Simpsons, Betty Boop and Dr. Seuss to name a few. The store also offers to have personalization added to the ornaments. Add a small message, the year, or simply just a name to commemorate your visit to the parks.

Below you’ll see a sample of the Despicable Me Minions Christmas merchandise available at Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe.

Here’s a sampling of The Simpsons Christmas ornaments available.

Not to be left out… Betty Boop shines in her collection of Christmas ornaments. She’s one of the few that offers blown glass ornaments as well as the traditional resin. She even has her own lights available for purchase.

Universal has their own branded collection, and though small, these ornaments also have the ability to be purchased monogrammed with the year. Personalization is also available.

A beautiful pairing of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Seuss Landing shares some of the fun from classic Dr. Seuss stories as Christmas ornaments.

You’ll also be able to find a selection of additional merchandise available inside Seuss Landing at the Mulberry Street store. Here you’ll find a broader collection of holiday apparel and Department 56 collectibles.

Moving over to Universal Studios, the Park Plaza Holiday Shop tucks itself away in a corner of New York that’s between Monsters Cafe and the entrance of Transformers: The Ride 3D.

Even though the parade just wrapped up in NYC, the Macy’s Holiday Parade is just around the corner here at Universal Studios and a few pieces of merchandise have begun to show up.

The shop carries many of the same items you’d find over at Islands of Adventure, but offers a variety of additional things you can’t find.

The collection of Betty Boop ornaments expands with some apparel.

Everyone’s favorite NickToon that lives in a pineapple under the sea gets his own dedicated collection. Especially if you’ve ever had the need for SpongeBob Christmas lights, they have you covered.

Park Plaza Holiday Shop also carries some Department 56 Simpsons collectibles, along with traditional ornaments as well that aren’t brand associated. They also offer on-site ornament personalizations.

So there you have it, a complete photo guide of the Christmas ornament offerings that are found at both parks of the Universal Orlando Resort.  There may be a few we missed, and more ornaments may debut, but hands down you’ll surely find the perfect ornament this Christmas if you’re stopping by Universal Orlando.
