Disney Springs will open a new tasty experience on Dec. 15 in The Landing area. This one-of-a-kind exhibit is called The Ganachery and will feature one of the most enjoyed sweets in the world: chocolate.

Disney Pastry Chef Stefan Riemer explains that this experience “has nothing to do with ‘candy.’” He also went on to say that, “Textures, tastes, colors – this [experience] is about relaxing and enjoying a bite-size indulgence,” says Chef Stefan.

As guests enter the shop, they are to be greeted by an expert chocolatier. Guests will walk through the shop while viewing experts mixing, decorating, and dressing each piece of artisan chocolate.

This is to feel the same as one would feel at a fine wine tasting. With copper saucepans, a well known tool for this delicious trade, and a similar vibe to walking into an apothecary, guests are sure to leave The Ganachery with delectable treats in hand, as well as a more refined palette for the intricate taste of high quality chocolate.

Guests are encouraged to try one of the 16 different ganaches made in house. Though the experience is meant to replicate the experience of a wine tasting, guests should leave any bit of intimidation for this tasting at the door!

The shop will offer both dark chocolate (a 65% custom blend) as well as a mild chocolate, so all guests will find a taste they love.

For a bit more of Disney magic, nine varieties of the chocolate bars will be available for purchase. These include bars that celebrate characters like the “Fab Five” (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck) and Disney destinations. For example, The Aulani bar is white chocolate with pinapple and coconut infused. The Disneyland Paris bar is a dark chocolate with liquid caramel and fleur de sel. Lastly, the Disneyland Resort bar is milk chocolate with raisins and almonds, which represents the top crops produced in California.

Chef Stefan has created one special treat exclusively for the winter holidays: a baked mini-stollen, which is the classic German fruit bread. This is is covered in marzipan and then enrobed in the dark chocolate blend.
