Star Wars fan Daniel Fleetwood, whose plea earlier this week to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” early went viral, was granted his wish.

In a Facebook message that was posted Thursday, Fleetwood’s wife Ashley, confirmed that Disney, J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot showed Fleetwood a still-unfinished version of the film.

To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!

Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!! We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Danjel was getting his wish granted! We also would like to thank Lynne, Ben and Anahuac for coming to our home and screening the movie for Daniel. Lastly I want to thank ALL the amazing people who helped make this happen, thank you beyond words!!! May the force be with you all smile emoticon ‪#‎forcefordaniel‬ !!!!

“Force Awakens” actors Mark Hamill and John Boyega lent their names to the movement, which was spread through the hashtag #forcefordaniel, and it quickly caught steam in support for Fleetwood, who suffers from spindle cell sarcoma (a rare form of cancer) and was given two months to live.

Because of how rapidly the disease has taken a toll on his health, Fleetwood was not sure if he would make it to December 18, the U.S. release date for the movie.

We wish Fleetwood and his family all the best as they go through this difficult time and may the force be with you, always.
