“The Lion King” animator Aaron Blaise creates wonderful tribute to Cecil the Lion

Cecil the Lion caught the world’s attention when he was killed in July by an American dentist. This tragedy quickly sparked debates about the inhumane hunting of these animals.

“The Lion King” animator Aaron Blaise felt so strongly about the sad incident and felt that he wanted to help out somehow and put his incredible talent to work creating a tribute piece.

“Like many people around the world, I was extremely moved by the recent tragedy surrounding the hunting and killing of the beloved lion know as Cecil. (Read More) – As you may be able to tell I am a HUGE animal lover and it drives me crazy when I see these beautiful creatures destroyed for no good reason. In fact, I’ve decided to get personally involved and hopefully our efforts can help educate people and prevent these horrible things from happening in the future.”

Taking inspiration from his past as animator on “The Lion King” Blaise created a stunning piece of art very much reminding us of Mufasa, the lion killed too soon in the movie.

Prints of this art is available for sale on Blaise website and 100% of the profits from the sale of these images will be donated to WildCRU – The organization that was studying and protecting Cecil and his pride.

Blaise also released a time lapse video showcasing how the art piece came to life.
