Today Disney Cruise Line announced several additions coming later this year to the Disney Dream. The ship will undergo dry dock Oct. 4-24, 2015, returning with an assortment of new entertainment and interactive experiences.

Star Wars Area

A new themed area will be part of Disney’s Oceaneer Club, open to ages three to 12, placing guests aboard the Millennium Falcon in a play area inspired by the spacecraft. Kids can join the Rebel Alliance to assist with navigation, sit in the cockpit, and pilot the ship through hyperspace and trigger lightspeed jumps to different locations around the galaxy.

Crafts, games and activities will be featured, along with episodes from the Disney XD animated series, “Star Wars Rebels.”

The popular Jedi Training Academy experience is also coming to the Disney Dream, letting kids use the Force to face off against Darth Vader.

Adults sailing on the Dream will have a brief opportunity to explore the new Star Wars area in the Oceaneer Club when first stepping aboard the ship before it sets sail during an open house period.

Disney Infinity

Also in the Oceaneer Club, a new space will be devoted to the popular video game Disney Infinity, with a complete set of character figures on display. Players who visit the room can unlock exclusive Disney Cruise Line content in the game to use when returning home. A life-sized Disney Infinity Base will also be in the area, allowing children take the place of character figures for a group gaming experience.

Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats

A “Wreck-It Ralph” area is being added to Deck 11 of the ship, called Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats, featuring handmade gelato and ice cream, an assortment of candy, and novelty treats for purchase. There will be freshly baked waffle cones as well. Entrances will be inside Cabana’s restaurant and outside by the pool deck.

The shop’s theme will resemble the candy land of the Sugar Rush race car game in “Wreck-It Ralph,” including a race track and checkerboard patterned floor, gas pump-style gumball dispensers, Vanellope’s race car and King Candy’s throne.

The makeover salon is coming to Deck 5 midship, just like it is located on the Disney Fantasy. Kids ages three to 12 will be able to transform into royalty or be part of The Pirates League.

Satellite Falls

Also like on the Disney Fantasy, the Dream will receive an exclusive area for adults on Deck 13 forward – a water feature called Satellite Falls. This circular splash pool with benches features a rain curtain that provides cool comfort.

All of these enhancements will debut on the Disney Dream on the Oct. 26 four-night voyage from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. The Disney Dream will continue to sail three- and four-night cruises from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas throughout 2015 and into 2016.
