Gamers united at Orlando’s Player 1 Video Game Bar last week for their first members-only event, a special evening party celebrating the regulars that have made this unique venue so popular.
Located just a few minutes from Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando, Player 1 features a large rotating selection of retro arcade games, pinball machines, and modern consoles. But it’s not just an arcade, with cosplaying bartenders serving up craft beers and unique drinks.
On an average night, Player 1 packs with adults (no children allowed) ready to play decades of arcade games at no extra charge, once paying the small cover to get in.
But last week, Player 1 hosted its first event for its members and their guests. Memberships allow regulars to enter without paying the cover and earn points by buying drinks, redeemable toward apparel, video games, and other bonuses. Now the bar is planning on throwing regular parties just for members, serving free (and delicious) food from acclaimed Chef Mark while dressing up bartenders in classy evening attire, seen below with owner Jeff.
Those wanting to purchase a Player 1 membership need to act fast, as they are available in extremely limited quantities and will be capped very soon as to not over crowd. Members are required to visit the bar at least once every 90 days to keep their membership active.
Player 1 is open until 2am nightly. And yes, I am now a member so don’t be surprised to run into me there once in a while. It’s a fun place.
