Christmas Town expands at Busch Gardens Tampa for 2013 with more snow, more lights across more holiday nights

For the 2013 holiday season, Busch Gardens Tampa is bringing back the park-wide celebration called Christmas Town with more in store for their guests. Open 18 select nights from 6 to 11 p.m., Nov. 29 through Dec. 23, this special event offers a variety of festive fun with new additions in its second year.

“Christmas Town is a unique holiday tradition for Tampa Bay-area families,” says Jim Dean, Busch Gardens Tampa’s park president. “We’ve creating a season-long celebration for family and friends unlike any other event our guests have ever seen – the kind of Christmas fun only Busch Gardens can provide.”

New for 2013, Busch Gardens is offering a trip back in time to celebrate Christmas in the good ‘ole days in Holiday Hills, a nostalgic town with live brass band sets accompanying Mrs. Claus as she cooks up holiday fare at Mrs. Claus’s Family Feast.

A garden walkway of Mistletoe Memories is added this year where romantic topiaries, flowers and sparkling white twinkle lights fill the trees overhead.

In the Sesame Street area, an all-new, heartwarming show called Elmo’s Christmas Wish will debut along with Sesame Street A Very Furry Christmas featuring Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Zoe and Abby.

Madagascar friends Gloria, Alex, King Julien and the penguins get a Christmas twist in Madagascar Live! Operation: Christmas Vacation, with colorful holographic ornaments filling the trees overhead on the plaza pathway leading to this all-new show.

Journey into Jungala is adding a nature-inspired Christmas, including a new tree light show in Christmas Time Terrace in which a larger-than-life Christmas tree comes alive every fifteen minutes with dancing lights.

SnowWorld returns, bringing real snow back to Florida, this time with eight new slides as well as a chance to build snowmen, play in the soft white snow, or even hurl a few snow balls in a target practice area.

Other returning entertainment include Christmas Town penguins, the Christmas Town Express sing-along train ride, Santa’s House, Celebration Village, Ice Wonder Way with the Angels of Peace: A Christmas Journey on Ice show, Miracle Way, Enchanted Flamingo Valley, Poinsettia Parkway, Jingle Bell Junction, and dancing lights on Crown Colony House.

Guests can also ride some of Busch Gardens’ most popular roller coasters, including Cheetah Hunt, SheiKra and Gwazi.

Those looking to come back for multiple visits can get unlimited admission to all 18 nights of Christmas Town with the Christmas Town Unlimited ticket for $89 plus tax for adults and $29 plus tax for children. General admission for Christmas Town is $60 for adults and $20 for children plus tax.
