‘Frozen’ teaser trailer and images give first look at new Walt Disney Animation Studios fairy tale, introducing Princess Anna

Walt Disney Animation Studios has revealed a first look at its upcoming film “Frozen” with a new teaser trailer and set of images. The trailer was revealed on Weather.com, an unusual tie-in to the movie’s climate-related title and setting.

“Frozen” introduces a new Disney Princess, Anna, in a story based on Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Snow Queen” – but the teaser video features only Sven and Olaf, a snowman and reindeer, the film’s comic relief. Likewise, the teaser only just barely teases the film, revealing nothing of its main characters or plot, instead simply showcasing its sidekicks.

Since the trailer doesn’t offer any hint of the film’s story, here is a summary of the plot of “Frozen”, along with some newly-released character images:

When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

“Frozen” is a 3D computer animated follow-up for Walt Disney Animation Studios previous two highly successful films, 2010’s “Tangled” and this year’s “Wreck-It Ralph.”

“Frozen” will slide its way into theaters on November 27th, 2013.
