Transformers: The Ride 3D annual passholder previews begin June 9 with soft opening access at Universal Orlando

Ever since Universal Orlando held a preview party last week for companies that helped create Transformers: The Ride 3D, fans have been on high alert awaiting a soft opening. The new ride isn’t scheduled to officially open until June 20, 2013, but N.E.S.T. team members have been spotted outside the building on a daily basis since training recently began, indicating a technical rehearsal would be coming soon.

Today Universal Orlando revealed when annual passholders can take part in that technical rehearsal with exclusive ride times.

Both Transformers: The Ride 3D and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios Florida will be open to Universal Orlando annual passholders June 9 through June 16, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Entry into the park and these attractions requires a valid annual pass – no guests allowed. Universal Express will not be offered during this time and Universal makes no guarantees that the ride will be 100% operational, as it is a technical rehearsal.

It is possible Universal will soft open Transformers: The Ride 3D in advance of this June 9 date or, even more likely, keep it open after the annual passholder preview ends each day – but, again, no guarantees.

Universal’s employees have two team member previews scheduled, tonight from 7:00pm – 10:00pm and tomorrow morning, May 29, from 7:00am – 9:00am, before the park opens. Only employees will be allowed inside during these previews.

The ride is expected to be nearly identical to its Hollywood counterpart, which had its grand opening just over a year ago.

For those willing to get up early, it’s an excellent opportunity to beat the big summer crowds that will surely line up for hours once the ride grand opens on June 20.
