Capping off a day that began with the grand opening of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World redecorated Future World East at Epcot with laser light to mark the official reopening of Test Track as a newly reimagined ride, presented by Chevrolet.
The grand opening featured Walt Disney World president Meg Crofton, GM’s Alan Batey, and Mickey Mouse, all of whom re-launched the high-speed ride by way of Chevrolet’s MyLink technology. After a countdown from 5, fireworks exploded surprising all in attendance and marking the moment when Test Track returned to Epcot’s lineup of popular attractions.

The opening night party for invited media, travel agents, Imagineers, executives, and their guests concluded with a brief concert performance by the band One Republic, who ended their set with their hit song “Good Life,” also featured in recent Disney Parks commercials.

For this special night only, Future World East was transformed into an extension of Test Track with Chevrolet vehicles and special graphics and lighting adorning the area.
The evening wrapped up with Illuminations fireworks exploding in the distance beyond the stage, enhanced by a holiday tag for this Christmas time of the year.
Test Track 2.0 is now open at Epcot, featuring a futuristic motif that emphasizes the design portion of developing new cars and subsequently testing those designs. See the full new Test Track experience in the video below and click here for a more in-depth look at the updated attraction.
