in Disney, Entertainment, Walt Disney World

Beginning in just two days, Walt Disney World will celebrate the New Year for an entire week as the first Limited Time Magic experience – the promotion that Disney promises will offer a different theme park offering each week throughout the year. Disneyland will follow with their debut Limited Time Magic events in January.

From December 30 – January 5, Walt Disney World will feature live entertainment in Tomorrowland on Rockettower Plaza Stage, featuring Disney characters in a “Bling in the New Year” dance party and a New Year’s countdown each hour leading up to midnight.

Meanwhile at the Disneyland Resort, beginning January 10 and continuing Thursday – Monday through February 4, 2013, Frontierland’s classic Golden Horseshoe Revue will return.

Update (1/2/13): Disneyland has released details of how guests can see “A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue”:

Guests should visit the podium at the entrance to the Golden Horseshoe on the date of their selected performance. A cast member will issue a ticket for the preferred show time, based on availability, which the guest will use for admission to the show. It is similar to the process that was used during the original run of the “Golden Horseshoe Revue.”

Annual passholders can also purchase a dinner package for $35.

New Mickey Mouse ear hats will also be released each month through “Limited Time Magic” as part of the “Year of the Ear” starting with Disney Couture Ear Hats in January.

Disney hasn’t revealed the full year’s lineup of Limited Time Magic events, but some of the experiences will include a week-long Independence Day celebration, a Friday the 13th dance party with Disney villains, a Valentine’s week, rare characters returning to the parks, and the Dapper Dans performing barbershop-style boy band hits, as recently previewed during a press event:

Limited Time Magic kicks off Dec. 30, 2012. Keep checking back to Inside the Magic weekly for each week’s big reveal, including details on how and where to see the special entertainment.
