Disneyland today shared an update on the status of Fantasy Faire, a new entertainment offering being constructed next to Sleeping Beauty Castle. First announced at the 2011 D23 Expo, Fantasy Faire will be a permanent home for Disney Princesses in the park when it debuts in Spring 2013.

Meanwhile, Disneyland is readying a new “live entertainment experience” for Fantasyland Theatre, meaning the existing Princess Fantasy Faire will permanently be closing on the newly-annonced date of August 12, just 10 days from now. But guests will still have an opportunity to meet Disney Princesses near “it’s a small world” until the new Fantasy Faire opens next year.

Much to the dismay of fans, Fantasy Faire is replacing the longtime home of swing dancing, Carnation Plaza Gardens, which closed in April. Disney has said that swing dancing will continue in the park on select nights once Fantasy Faire opens.
