The boys and ghouls of Spooky Empire are back again beginning this Friday with another weekend of May-Hem on International Drive in Orlando. This year’s Halloween-away-from-Halloween event will include another exciting line-up of celebrity guests and special events.

It’s the second year Spooky Empire has expanded its annual October offering into May, with the aptly-titled May-Hem event evoking some of that same freaky fun a few months early.

This year’s celebrity line-up includes a pair of stars from the “Terminator” series, most notably Linda Hamilton, best known for her role as Sarah Connor in “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” and again in Universal Studios’ “T2:3D” attraction.

In addition, Kristanna Loken – the female “Terminatrix” from “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” will be there.

For old school horror fans, several cast members of the original Addams Family will be in attendance, including John Astin (Gomez) and Lisa Loring (Wednesday).

The list of celebrities scheduled to meet with attendees and sign autographs includes Joey Lauren Adams (“Chasing Amy”), Ace Frehley (KISS), Verne Troyer (“Austin Powers”), and James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), among others.

In addition to parties, panel discussions, and a large exhibit hall, the event will also host a tribute Zombie Walk to the late Bill Hinzman, a Spooky Empire event regular who played the “original zombie” in “Night of the Living Dead” (1968), pictured below at last year’s May-Hem.

The zombie walk will kick off Spooky Empire’s May-Hem 2012 event this Friday, May 25 at 4 p.m., starting from Uno’s Chicago Grill on International Drive across from the Wyndham.

A zombie walk, of course, invites horror fans of all ages to dress up in creative undead costumes and slowly parade down the street. Hundreds attend each year’s event in Orlando and last year’s zombie walk in October at Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend was no exception:

After years of frequenting this location, this is also the final event Spooky Empire will hold at the Wyndham, moving down the road to the Hilton in October due to the Wyndham’s upcoming scheduled demolition.

Beyond the zombie walk, May-Hem takes place all weekend, May 25-27, at the Wyndham. More information and tickets can be found at SpookyEmpire.com.
