Late last night on the Disney Parks Blog, two new “Specialty Room” types were announced to be coming to Walt Disney World.

At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, 512 of its roughly 2,000 total rooms will become Royal Guest Rooms by March 2012. These rooms will feature decorations inspired by Disney Princess movies, including Princess Tiana from “The Princess and The Frog”, Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”, and Jasmine from “Aladdin”.

Themed features will include ornate beds with fiber-optic headboards and gold accents, Princess artwork, and even “special mementos” from the Princesses themselves.

Take a closer look at the artwork for some of the features in these new Disney Princess rooms:

These rooms will become part of Disney’s existing line of Specialty Rooms. Pirate-themed hotel rooms are currently available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and new Specialty Rooms will included in Disne’s new Art of Animation Resort when it opens in May 2012.

Beyond animated themes, guests arriving to Walt Disney World in Fall 2011 can look to new “health and wellness suites” for peace and comfort. They’ll be featured on the 14th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and will feature bamboo flooring, 100-percent cotton linens, and non-allergenic wrapped mattresses.

These special suites are almost like private spas, with workout equipment and bathrooms containing rainwater showers and tea tree oils. A concierge lounge will offer organic fresh foods.

The new Specialty Rooms will be available for booking within a few months by mid-summer at www.waltdisneyworld.com or by calling 407-939-7429.
