King Kong invades Santa Monica beach on the way to Universal Studios Hollywood

in Movies, Theme Parks, Universal Studios Hollywood

Yesterday photographer Jonathan Alcorn discovered giant footsteps in the sand at a beach north of the Santa Monica Pier in California. All signs point to this being a part of a promotion for Universal Studios Hollywood’s upcoming King Kong 3D attraction, which will open as part of the theme park’s tram tour on July 4th.

Along the path of destruction “caused” by Kong’s gigantic feet was a lifeguard vehicle:

King Kong 3D replaces the old King Kong section of the classic Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour, which fell victim to the large fire that consumed much of the park’s famous backlot in 2008. Recently, the majority of the backlot reopened featuring many new and restored sets.
