Video game fans will be soon have a new location to play in Orlando as the popular entertainment chain Dave and Busters is coming to International Drive.

Dave & Busters is home to not only a huge arcade filled with all the latest interactive video games, but also was one of the first establishments to successfully combine gaming with a restaurant and bar to complete the experience. While ads for Dave & Busters have run on TV in Orlando markets for a number of years, its only Florida locations have been hours away in Jacksonville, Hollywood, and Miami.

The former Race Rock restaurant location on International Drive, visible from nearby I-4, will be the home of Dave and Busters. Race Rock permanently closed in 2007, leaving its large building vacant. Tavistock Group Inc. purchased it for $7.5 million and has since found a new tenant in Dave & Busters.

While no opening date has been revealed, when it does open Dave & Busters will be in competition with DisneyQuest at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney, which is home to a similar mix of video games and dining, though no bar.
