BotCon 2010 Transformers convention rolls out at Walt Disney World in Orlando

in Disney, Events, Movies, Television

The Transformers convention BotCon 2010 brought fans of the popular TV, movie, and toy series to Orlando from June 24-27 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel, offering a chance to purchase collectibles, play games, meet celebrities, and, as with any sci-fi/fantasy convention, show off costumes.

Here’s a video over view of BotCon, including a look at an impressively tall Starscream costume and a trip through the “Autobot Alliance” combat simulator, putting visitors head-to-head against Decepticons:

The BotCon 2010 convention floor was home to plenty of exciting sights for any Transformers fan. An actual 2010 Chevy Camaro was parked alongside a life-size statue of its Transformers counterpart, Bumblebee:

Fans filled the convention show floor with Transformers costumes. Here are just a few:

Some fans have taken their love of Transformers to the next level, permanently tattooing the familiar Autobot and Decepticon logos onto their bodies:

The Autobot Alliance simulator allowed fans to shoot at evil Decepticons with suction dart-loaded guns:

On the night of Saturday, June 26, inductees were made into the new Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame:

Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime, was in attendance at BotCon 2010 to accept his induction into the Hall of Fame. I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Cullen:
