in Merchandise, Movies, Theme Parks

If you have ever watched a Harry Potter movie and wondered what it would be like to work in the many shops and pubs of Hogsmeade Village, now’s your chance.

Universal Orlando has posted three hourly jobs for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, opening in June at Islands of Adventure. They are service cashier, sales associate, and line production cook.

Here are a few additional, but general, details about each:

Service Cashier
Do you enjoy in a fast paced environment? As a Universal Orlando Service Cashier you will help our guests quench their thirst and grab a bite to eat by filling food and beverage orders at one of our Resort’s state of the art restaurants.

A large portion of your day will be spent greeting guests and suggestively selling menu items while you handle cash and credit transactions by operating a POS (Point-of-sale) cash register. You will ensure efficient guest service by maintaining a clean work environment while you fill order items and maintain a sanitized food area.

As a Universal Orlando Team Member you will have the unique opportunity of upholding our guest service standards by providing positive interactions with our guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, those hired as service cashiers will likely be employed at the Three Broomsticks or Hog’s Head restaurants, ringing up orders of Butterbeer, fish and chips, and strawberry peanut butter ice cream.

Line Production Cook
No experience is required to apply for this role.

Help create unforgettable memories for our guests by providing a first-rate dining experience while working for one of the world’s leading theme park destinations. No matter what kitchen you work at, there is no difference to our commitment of using the freshest and highest quality ingredients available. Working with exceptional Chefs and an experienced staff ensures that each Team Member can gain the experience necessary to work at any of our food and beverage locations throughout the resort.

As a Line Production Cook you will be responsible for setting up your station with materials and supplies while ensuring there is plenty of backup stock. You will be performing cooking duties and related functions under the direct supervision of our world class Chefs. You will be expected to ensure high food quality levels that meet or exceed Universal Orlando standards and will be performing spot checks of portioning tools each day. You will provide daily documentation and record keeping of product spoilage, follow established safety standards using safe food handling guidelines and maintain a clean work area.

These cooks will likely work behind the scenes at the Three Broomsticks or Hog’s Head restaurants, serving potato leek soup and the occasional “Great Feast.”

Sales Associate

Delight our guests by helping them find that special gift or souvenir to remember their visit to Universal Orlando Resort. As a Sales Associate you will have an opportunity to work at various Merchandise locations, this includes indoor as well as outdoor venues throughout Universal Orlando property and other company owned or leased venues.

If variety is what you are seeking, this may be the job for you! A portion of your day will be spent operating a POS (Point-of-sale) register, cash handling and stocking as well as maintaining your respective service area including the replenishment of supplies. As a Universal Orlando Team Member you will have the unique opportunity of upholding our guest/customer service standards, interacting positively with guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Out of these three positions, sales associate will likely be the most entertaining, as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be filled with unique stores like Honeyduke’s, Zonko’s, Ollivander’s Wand Shop, and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. Associates will be selling golden snitches, wizards robes, and perhaps even a magic wand or two.
