This week, three new attraction posters have premiered at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., each in a style reminiscent of the past.

The new posters are for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the world famous Jungle Cruise, and Tarzan’s Treehouse. The Mr. Toad poster is an all-new design created at Walt Disney Imagineering and was first shown off in an Imagineering-exclusive poster pin series released in 2008. The other two posters are largely based on designs created for Hong Kong Disneyland.

Since Disneyland’s opening in 1955, attraction posters have been used in a similar way to movie posters found in theaters, “previewing” what’s to come for visiting guests. Likewise, the park’s famous train station was designed to act as a “curtain,” blocking guests’ view down Main Street and of the castle at the end until after they pass underneath.
